A new life chapter: New Year’s Eve 2016 Hair Ideas

Dec 29, 2015Hailey Way

Throw the New Year’s resolutions out the window. There’s still time to usher in the New Year with a show-stopping look for THE night, of all nights this year to turn heads. What perfectly compliments that dress that fit likes a glove? An effortless yet, party worthy hair-DO.

Here are a few of our suggestions!

Keep it classy with a vintage victory roll and tie it up in the back with a traditional French twist. Paris Hilton is working this old Hollywood glamour look with a secure off center victory roll.

Learn how to do several kinds of victory rolls. An easy pompadour or quaff style can be substituted for those pressed for time!

Want to add a little decorative hair-piece you wouldn’t normally wear? Add a simple hair accessory, like skinny headband or barrette. Eye catching!

We love this nod to the silver sixties beehive up do. Keep it in tact with a decorative comb clip or a pulled back into a puffy, bouffant bob. Check out these hand made hair accessories from Etsy shops and geometrical inspired ones for a more shapely statement piece.

Want to make guests do a double take? Of course you do. It’s New Year’s Eve!

Lady Gaga, the pop queen of hair statements made her hair bow debut in her video “Poker Face.” Girls everywhere ran with it for the best party look. Learn how to hair bow from the best in the game.

Keeping on our showstopper hair train, the equally, if not more talented musical queen, Beyonce is a lioness among performers and always has flawless hair. Get her no-stress waves from hot rollers or a curling iron with a barrel size of 2” or more and lots of teasing and hairspray.

Remember, what would Beyonce do?

With the perfect minimal makeup, the side swept romanticism of Kristen Stewart’s look is easily doable. Take a 1 to 2” curling iron, a little mousse or dry shampoo and bobby pins to keep the other side falling over the other shoulder. Maybe pair this hair with an iridescent dress for a romantic mermaid look.

What about the fierce short hair ladies?! The classic Edie Sedgwick pixie cut has made a come back this year and will surely carry on into the New Year.

Present day babes rocking this look, like Ruby Rose and Miley Cyrus, have enough of a statement with their looks. Style with pomade or a super hold gel to get a slicked back tough look. Or take model Agyness Deyn’s approach (below) and make your stand tall in this punk inspired look.

Happy New Year and have your best hair year yet!
