Downtown Las Vegas: Hi Rollers Barbershop

With how short my hair is, I usually get it trimmed a few times a month. I have a faded side shave with an inverted pixie on the other side. Once my boyfriend and I got settled into our new place, we investigated the local salon scene in Las Vegas. We both needed to get cleaned up a bit after being on the road.

Back in Seattle, we both went to Bishops Barbershop, so we looked for a comparable salon that served some cheap beer, had great music and offered quality styling products.

Nestled east of the Vegas arts district, is Hi Rollers Barbershop. No shops surround Hi Rollers, except for a gas station (side note, get cash out there!). Hi Rollers only takes cash.

Another side note: we walked in figuring it would be a walk-in style place… but only on certain days. Tuesday through Thursday, Hi Rollers is by appointment only. Not to worry, walk-ins are taken Friday through Sunday.

We loved the vibe of this place! The inside is full of American traditional tattoo art, classic Pabst Blue Ribbon framed photos, skateboard art and brightly colored bowling pins. Kind of a pawn shop meets tattoo parlor from The Big Lebowski.

All the guys cutting hair know their stuff, style wise. The style base is a majority of classic men’s cuts and traditional grooming services.

However, it is definitely not limited to men! I saw Bacca (pronounced BAH-KAH, Chewbacca anyone?!) and he knew immediately I had a pixie cut, asked how I liked my fade and cleaned it up properly with a straight razor at the end. So, if your a gal venturing in, ask for Bacca. 

Hi Rollers Barbershop is definitely our Vegas go-to. Everyone is friendly, they offer great products from Suavecito & Suavacita Pomeade, street apparel, and some of the best beard and mustache grooming products. 

Check them out next time you happen to need a trim and find yourself in downtown Las Vegas. And buy some Suavecito and put it in your boyfriend's hair, because it smells sexy!
