Fringe Benefits

Fringe
(noun)
1. A decorative, ornamental border
2. An outer edge
3. The front part of a person's hair cut so as to hang over the forehead; bangs.

Fringe or bangs……don’t split hairs, call them what you will. We’re OK with both, although usually you’ll hear fringe abroad while we prefer bangs here in the US. The very thought of a fringe immediately brings forth a multitude of options, and we’ll showcase a few ways to showcase your eyes and face with a fringe of hair.

Audrey Hepburn is notably one of the most iconic women to wear her hair styled with bangs. She magnified her huge eyes and lush eyebrows by framing them with ultra short bangs. Often seen photographed straight on, she brushed her fringe to the side; breaking from a harsh line. Source: @audreyhepburn

Top stylist, Luigi Martini, exaggerates the length and curve of these eye catching bangs on this mid-length bob.   A highly dramatic edge on a classic precision cut is picture (frame) perfect here!  Source: @bangstyle

 Green pixie
A pixie perfect choppy fringe suits everything about this hairstyle by award winning stylist Paul Paterson. Look good while you’re having fun and have fun while you’re looking good. Source: @bangstyle

Kelly Osborne.
Ever the hair fave, Kelly Osbourne, never disappoints with her sense of style. These super deep cut bangs are one of the many spins on the fringe that she sports. Kelly always wears it well and adds a little lift with a texturing spray styling product.  Source: @kellyosbourne

Presley Poe Pink Bangs
We are swept away by this soft and sexy look. Sweeping the hair loosely to either side, bangs are instantly softened as is the entire effect.  Portland hair expert, Presley Poe, knows exactly how to complement her client’s face and eyes with foolproof expertise. Source: @presleypoe

If you are undecided or even terrified to take the plunge from no bangs to bangs,  try playing with your long locks and simply fold or pin them under in front to get a sneak peek of your future fringe. Remember two important things here:  1) there is no right or wrong choice  2) hair grows.

I was at the Sam Villa(if you haven’t seen or heard him , please look at him on the internet or utube, the # 1 teacher in the hair biz
6 years in a row, he is amazing , -and while everyone else is charging hundreds of $s
For their videos, his are free!, he says we need to educate the customer , he uses the “fringe”
So he says , when some one wants a bang trim, do it at no charge , say it’s a fringe
